The Office of Underwater Science promotes and facilitates interdisciplinary research and education concerning underwater resources. The goals of the Office of Underwater Science are: to develop interdisciplinary educational programs concerning underwater resources for academic institutions and the general public; to promote sustainable use of underwater resources through interpretation and development of underwater parks; to sponsor research field studies in the interpretation and conservation of submerged cultural and biological resources; to promote public outreach programs concerning underwater resources through exhibition and publication; and to inventory and archive the visual documentation of underwater resources.
