The MEDC was created to serve as a center for the study of mathematics learning and teaching at all levels, kindergarten through college. During the 33 year history of the MEDC, faculty from both the Mathematics Department and the School of Education's Mathematics Education Program have collaborated on several projects involving both research and curriculum development projects focusing on K-12 school mathematics, as well as the mathematics preparation of teachers (both pre-service and in-service). Recent projects have involved development of in-service and curriculum materials for high school tech prep programs, the development of video disk pre-algebra instructional materials for grades 7-12, and the development of innovative mathematics courses for elementary and middle school teachers.
