The mission of the Indiana University Center for Aging Research is to test innovative strategies to improve the quality of health care and self-care of older adults. Our scientists have a particular interest in research to strengthen the nation’s primary care system to better serve the needs of older Americans. We also conduct research to integrate the resources of the health care system with the resources of the social and public health agencies seeking to improve the lives of older adults. Over the past decade, our research has increasingly emphasized the important role of the older adult in achieving their health goals through self-care and self-management.
